North Middle School’s Drama Club, under the direction of Dylan Henemann, will present “The Nutcracker”, by Patrick Rainville Dorn and Bill Francoeur. This non-ballet, family-friendly, Christmas musical explores themes of imagination, childhood wonder, and the fight between good and evil. In this musical, our protagonist, Marie, receives a mysterious nutcracker from her godfather, Herr Drosselmeier, on Christmas Eve. On that same night, an attack led by the Mouse King occurs against the toys, who have mysteriously come to life. Marie helps defeat the Mouse King’s army and joins the Nutcracker on a journey to save Princess Pirlipat from the Mouse Queen. Will this group of heroes free the princess, or will they succumb to the evil Mouse Queen’s powers?

Tickets to the show can be bought at the North High auditorium before the performances on December 18th, 19th, and 20th at 7pm. Adults tickets are $10, students are $5.00.

“I love the other actors in the play, and the ability to be mean,” Nova Buckley states, the actor playing the Mouse Queen.

“My favorite part is throwing my slipper and defeating the Mouse King,” says Ana Clark, who plays Marie.

“I like how the actors get swords to fight in the play.” Haven Amman tells us, whose role is Father Stahlbaum.

Come see this wonderful show and celebrate the holidays with your friends and family!
